ACCT Philly is the only animal control provider and open intake shelter in Philadelphia and the most underfunded animal shelter in any major U.S city. Our mission is to provide shelter, care and life saving efforts for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals and, protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Philadelphia.
Each year ACCT Philly provides temporary shelter and adoption and placement services for more than 16,000 homeless and abandoned animals of all varieties, from dogs and cats to pigs, chickens, small mammals, parrots and reptiles and offer programs to keep pets with their families rather than being surrendered. We rely heavily on donations and our incredible community of supporters and partners to carry out our mission and give Philadelphia’s homeless and abandoned animals a second chance at a new life.
