Colorado Pet Pantry (CPP) is a statewide pet food bank helping people to feed and keep their pets during financial challenges. In times of financial distress, many individuals and families are faced with the heartbreaking decision to give up their pets because they cannot afford to care for them. Pets are cherished family members and it is important to overall mental health to maintain the human-animal bond within the family during times of crisis. CPP’s purpose is to help Colorado families keep their pets at home.
Pet food assistance, like that provided by CPP, allows our Colorado families to better afford basic needs, so they don’t face the heartbreaking choice between keeping a beloved family member or giving it up at a time that is already incredibly stressful.
CPP began in 2013, with a mission to temporarily feed Colorado pets, allowing families to increase their ability to care for pets with the goal of keeping them out of shelters and with their families and a single pet food bank at a human food bank partner.
Today, CPP is the largest organization of its kind in the US, offering a variety of programs to support pet owners’ ability to keep their pets at home during times of crisis and financial struggle.
It costs CPP $5 to feed a dog or cat for a month.
