COMMUNITY VIOLENCE SOLUTIONS
Community Violence Solutions (formerly called the Rape Crisis Center) was one of the first Rape Crisis Centers in California, and has been providing services in Contra Costa and Marin Counties for more than 40 years. The organization’s mission is to work in partnership with the community to end sexual assault and family violence through prevention, crisis services, and treatment. The name was changed in 2001 reflect a growing continuum of services, which currently include:
- 24-hour rape crisis hotline, crisis intervention, advocacy, accompaniment and support services provided by staff and volunteers for child and adult victims of sexual assault
- Anti-Human Trafficking Project, serving domestic and international victims of all forms of trafficking, and operating two drop-in centers with support services for commercially sexually exploited youth
- Violence Prevention and Education services, operating in schools and other community settings to address bullying, sexual harassment, dating violence and sexual assault
- Children’s Interview Center, a nationally accredited center serving child victims of sexual abuse and other forms of child abuse, and their non-offending family members
- Differential Response, providing case management and home visits to families at risk, to prevent the need for involvement with child protective services
