Freya’s Cat Rescue was formed out of love for feral cats: We have been caring for a feral cat colony in New Jersey for more than twelve years. We are a volunteer, not-for-profit, no-kill cat rescue whose primary function is caring for and rescuing homeless and/or feral and abandoned pets who were forced to locate another home outdoors.
The goal of Freya’s Cat Rescue is to rescue those cats who appear friendly, provide veterinary care by spaying and neutering, then locate forever homes. Many feral cats may instead be TNR’d (Trap-Neuter/Spay-Returned) in addition to providing follow-up care and shelter.
Freya’s Cat Rescue also provides education about feral cat care, nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, diet free of animal products. We encourage new cat owners the importance of spaying/neutering their pets for their health and longevity and to also alleviate unwanted behaviors that may result in their future abandonment. As part of the Ministry, Freya’s Cat Rescue also provides customized Pet Remembrance ceremonies.
Freya’s Cat Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization. We are not funded by any outside source or receive any grants. We have no paid employees and rely on assistance from devoted volunteers. We may only continue our work with public support and the generosity of other like-minded animal lovers.
