Harborlight Homes (HH) is an award-winning non-profit Massachusetts Community Development Corporation serving twelve communities north of Boston by developing, managing, and advocating for high quality, service-enriched affordable homes.
Working to break the cycle of poverty through innovation and tenacity, HH cultivates just, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable housing opportunities, focusing the needs of underserved and marginalized persons, including essential workers, those who have been homeless, and persons of color. HH’s advocacy challenges the barriers that have historically resulted in segregation and inequity.
With roots planted by a church housing mission in 1963 to assist 20 vulnerable elders, Harborlight Homes has become the largest nonprofit affordable housing developer in the region.
More than housing development/management, HH works to impact the Social Determinants of Health through mitigating housing and food insecurity, creating pathways to economic mobility, and ensuring low-income seniors age in place with dignity. HH currently offers 459 affordable homes, including first-time homebuyer properties, serves over 650 residents, and is slated to double this affordable housing portfolio in the next five years, adding 409 units with nine projects in the development pipeline.
