The West Midwest Community is comprised of over 600 Sisters, nearly 700 Mercy Associates and seven Companions in Mercy who live the charism of Founder Catherine McAuley.
In the spirit of our founder, we live lives of contemplation and service, making a difference for thousands each year, many of whom suffer from poverty, homelessness, lack of education and illness. We do that through ministries in a variety of areas including: health care, education, pastoral care, parish ministry and housing.
The West Midwest Community central administrative center is located in Omaha, Neb., and the community has facilities in Chicago, Ill.; Detroit, Mich.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Burlingame and Auburn, Calif. In addition to sisters who live in those cities, sisters, associates and companions live and serve in 32 cities and four countries.
