Temple Israel is a small, warm, and friendly synagogue located in Riverhead, New York. We are a conservative synagogue, priding ourselves on the equal participation of men and women. We offer many activities for children and teens, adult education, book club, winter Shabbat dinners, special programs, and celebrations of Jewish holidays.
Everyone is encouraged to participate according to his or her ability. It is impossible to attend our services and not enjoy the warmth of our Temple family and the sincerity of our worship. Our membership is drawn from Eastern Long Island; from Rocky Point and Coram to the west, to the North and South Forks to the east.
Our congregation is over 100 years old, and our current building was built in 1945. The Sanctuary comfortably seats 140 people, and has been newly renovated. We are currently midway through our Capital Campaign which will see the updating and renovation of all our facilities.
