Founded in November 2020, The Kentucky Chess Ambassadors teaches chess to racial minority, low income and socially disadvantage youth throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and most recently parts of Texas and Ohio. We do this through after school chess programs, online chess clubs, online and over the board tournaments, and summer chess (and reading) camps. Chess, as an individual sport and a team sport, enhances a young person’s (K/12) math and reading skills through the development of their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Over 80% of our car donation income source benefits the summer chess and reading programs….equipment, clocks, sets, books, puzzles and puzzle books, score pads, and chess camp shirts and graduation certificates.
