The Winchester Area SPCA (WASPCA) strengthens the human-animal bond and safeguards animals in transition. The animal welfare agency is a 501c3 non-profit serving the community since 1907.
WASPCA is a no-kill shelter that serves as the only animal shelter for Winchester City, VA. The shelter provides emergency housing and care to over 1,300 domestic pets annually. WASPCA also supports the mission of the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies and their goal of Virginia becoming a no-kill state. Through the WASPCA TransFUR program, the shelter serves as an adoption hub for rescues and shelters throughout The Commonwealth.
